Swedish Apple Cake 

Wet Ingredients

2 large eggs

¾ cup granulated sugar

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

½ cup milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Optional Topping

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tablespoon butter, melted

Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

Preheat the oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.

Prepare the apples
Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples. Set aside.

Mix dry ingredients
In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and cardamom.

Mix wet ingredients
In another bowl, beat the eggs with sugar until light and slightly fluffy.
Add melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract, then mix well.

Combine batter
Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring until a smooth batter forms.

Assemble the cake
Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
Arrange the apple slices evenly over the top.

Add topping (optional)
Drizzle melted butter over the apples and sprinkle with brown sugar.

Bake
Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool and serve
Let the cake cool for about 10 minutes, then dust lightly with powdered sugar.
