1️⃣ Preheat the Oven

Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).


2️⃣ Prepare the Potatoes

  • Wash and scrub potatoes thoroughly.

  • Dry completely with a towel (this is key for crispy skin).

  • Poke each potato 4–5 times with a fork.


3️⃣ Season for Crispy Skin

  • Rub each potato with olive oil.

  • Sprinkle generously with coarse salt and black pepper.


4️⃣ Bake

  • Place directly on oven rack or on a baking sheet.

  • Bake for 45–60 minutes, depending on size.

  • Potatoes are done when fork-tender inside.


5️⃣ Fluff & Finish

  • Slice open immediately while hot.

  • Gently squeeze ends to fluff interior.

  • Add butter so it melts into the potato.
