Preparation Method
1. Prepare the Crust
Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C). In a bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter until well mixed. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to create an even crust. Bake for 8–10 minutes, then remove from the oven and allow it to cool.
2. Make the Cheesecake Filling
In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with the sugar and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the sour cream and flour until the mixture becomes smooth and well combined.
3. Prepare the Sugar Cookie Swirl
Divide the sugar cookie dough into two equal portions. Color one portion with red food coloring and the other with green food coloring. Drop small pieces of the colored dough over the cheesecake batter.
4. Create the Swirl
Use a toothpick or a knife to gently swirl the colored cookie dough through the cheesecake batter to create a festive pattern.
5. Bake the Cheesecake
Bake the cheesecake for 35–40 minutes, or until the center is mostly set. Turn off the oven and leave the cheesecake inside for 10 minutes before removing it. Allow it to cool completely at room temperature.
6. Chill the Cheesecake
Refrigerate the cheesecake for at least 4 hours or overnight so it can fully set and develop its rich texture.
7. Garnish and Serve
Before serving, top the cheesecake with whipped cream and decorate with holiday-themed sugar cookies. Slice and enjoy this festive dessert.
