Cajun Pasta with Smoked Sausage — Creamy, Spicy, and Irresistible

Preparation Method

Cook the pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Cook the sausage
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced smoked sausage and cook for about 4–5 minutes until lightly browned.

Sauté the vegetables
Add the chopped onion and sliced bell pepper to the pan. Cook for 3–4 minutes until they begin to soften. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.

Add the spices
Sprinkle in the Cajun seasoning, paprika, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir well so the sausage and vegetables are evenly coated with the spices.

Prepare the creamy sauce
Pour in the chicken broth and cooking cream, stirring to combine. Let the sauce simmer gently for 4–5 minutes until it begins to thicken slightly.

Add the cheese
Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and mix until melted and smooth.

Combine with the pasta
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss everything together until the pasta is well coated in the creamy sauce. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Serve
Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley or chopped green onions before serving.
