Simple and Irresistible Strawberry Cake

Preparation Method

Prepare the strawberries
Wash the strawberries, remove the stems, and cut them into small pieces. Sprinkle them with the lemon juice and set aside.

Prepare the batter
In a large bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar until the mixture becomes light and slightly fluffy.

Add the liquids
Pour in the vegetable oil and milk, mixing well until fully combined.

Add the dry ingredients
Sift the flour and baking powder together, then gradually add them to the batter while mixing. Stir in the grated lemon zest.

Add the strawberries
Gently fold most of the strawberries into the batter, reserving a few pieces for the top.

Prepare the cake pan
Grease and flour a cake pan (about 22–24 cm / 9 inches). Pour the batter into the pan and spread it evenly. Scatter the remaining strawberries on top.

Bake the cake
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool and decorate
Let the cake cool completely before removing it from the pan. Dust the top with powdered sugar before serving.
