“Golden Puff Pastry Spoons Filled with Cream Cheese and Smoked Salmon”

Preparation Method
1. Prepare the pastry

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface.

Using a spoon as a guide, cut oval shapes slightly larger than the spoon bowl.

2. Shape the pastry spoons

Place the pastry ovals over the back of metal spoons, gently pressing them so they take the spoon shape.

Arrange the spoons on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.

3. Add egg wash

Mix the egg yolk and milk together.

Brush the pastry lightly with this mixture to give it a golden color.

Sprinkle sesame seeds on top if desired.

4. Bake

Bake in the oven for 12–15 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.

Remove from the oven and allow them to cool slightly, then carefully slide the pastry shells off the spoons.

5. Prepare the filling

Add a small leaf of lettuce or parsley inside each pastry spoon.

Place a small spoonful of cream cheese on top.

6. Add the salmon

Roll the smoked salmon slices into small rose shapes.

Place one salmon rose on each pastry spoon.

7. Serve

Arrange the pastry spoons on a serving platter and serve immediately. They are best enjoyed fresh and slightly crispy.
